Buying Tires Online: A Simple Step-by-Step Checklist
Buying tires online is easier when you check three things first: the complete tire specification, how many tires the listing includes, and the total cost to get them installed.
Confirm the fit, confirm the package, then review delivery and returns. Arrange installation after every tire arrives and your order has been checked.

1. Confirm the Right Tire for Your Vehicle
Start with your vehicle's tire information label and owner's manual. Photograph the label, then note the year, make, model and trim. If the wheels have changed, or the front and rear sizes differ, tell us before ordering.
Compare the complete tire size, load index and speed rating with the vehicle manufacturer's requirements. USTMA's replacement guidance explains why those specifications matter. A matching wheel diameter or a similar product photograph does not confirm fitment.
Use our tire size finder to narrow the options, then read the exact listing. Our tire size guide explains the markings. Choose the intended season and driving use as well as the size.
2. Check Whether You Are Buying One Tire or a Set
Our catalog includes single tires and clearly labeled sets of 2, 4, 5, 6 or 8. Read the package label beside the price before changing the quantity.
- Single-tire listing: order quantity 1 means one tire.
- Set-of-4 listing: order quantity 1 means one set containing four tires.
- Two sets of 4: order quantity 2 means eight tires in total.
A per-tire comparison figure helps you compare value; the full package price is what one order unit costs. Check the cart's total tire count before paying. Decide how many tires your vehicle needs with your installer, especially when replacing fewer than four.
3. Review the Complete Cost
Review the merchandise total and applicable tax at checkout. Dominant Tires offers free standard shipping to eligible street addresses in the contiguous 48 states, with no handling fee. See our shipping policy for address eligibility.
Ask your installer for a separate quote covering mounting, balancing, valve stems or TPMS service, disposal and any other recommended work. These services are not included in the tire price. Keep the quote with your shortlist so you can budget for the whole purchase.
4. Plan Delivery Before Booking Installation
Check the street address, recipient name and contact number. If a tire shop will receive the order, obtain its agreement and delivery instructions first.
Arrival dates are estimates unless expressly guaranteed. Tires may travel separately, with different tracking numbers. Inspect each tire as it arrives, compare its label with your order and report visible damage promptly. Wait until the complete order has arrived and been checked before arranging installation. Follow our arrival checklist.
5. Read the Return and Warranty Terms
Request a return within 90 days of delivery under our return policy. Tires must be unused, unmounted, undamaged and in their original condition. Keep labels and packaging, and request authorization before returning anything. For a correctly supplied tire that you selected incorrectly, return shipping is your responsibility.
Manufacturer warranty eligibility varies by tire and purchase channel. Review our warranty support information and ask for the applicable written terms before buying if coverage influences your choice.
Common Questions About Buying Tires Online
Does a tire set include wheels?
These listings are for tires. Product photos help identify the item, but the written listing determines what the package includes; do not assume wheels or installation are included.
Can I send tires straight to my installer?
Yes, when the shop agrees to receive them and the address is eligible. Confirm the name and order details the shop wants on the shipment.
What if a specification is unclear?
Ask our team before ordering. Send the listing, vehicle details and clear photos of the tire information label and current sidewall.
